Nedd Brockmann’s Uncomfortable Challenge

In 2022, a crowd of 10,000 people gathered at Bondi Beach as 23-year-old Nedd Brockmann completed an epic achievement. In 46 days, he had run across the Australian continent from Perth to Sydney – a staggering 3,953 kilometres – and raised $2.6 million for homelessness charity, We Are Mobilise.

Now in demand as an inspiring keynote speaker, Nedd recently visited Ampol HQ, where he motivated our team with his understated stories of his achievements, his boundless energy and plans for his next – and enormous – personal challenge.

During Nedd’s record-breaking run, he famously consumed chocolate milk each day. After the run, Nedd was inspired to create his own chocolate milk to raise even more funds for We are Mobilise. Nedd’s Choccy Milk and Nedd’s Iced Coffee were born and in Nedd’s own understated words, his milk “Tastes good. Does good.”

Nedd credits choccy milk with powering his recovery and his own brand, made with real Australian milk is packed with 26 grams of protein in every bottle. It’s proudly stocked in selected Ampol Foodary stores across Australia as well as Woolworths supermarkets. Every bottle sold gives back to We Are Mobilise, supporting Nedd’s ambition to raise $10 million for homelessness.

At Ampol we are inspired by Nedd’s goals and his perseverance. He says he “won’t stop until homelessness isn’t a thing in Australia.” Go Nedd.

While running across Australia and creating a successful business providing generous support for the homeless might be enough for some, Nedd isn’t taking a break any time soon.

He recently announced Nedd’s Uncomfortable Challenge. In October, he’s hoping to smash the world record for running 1,000 miles. The record has stood since 1988 when legendary ultra-marathoner, Yiannis Kourous, completed the mammoth task in 10 days, 10 hours, and 30 minutes.

When Nedd hits the track at Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre, he’ll be aiming to run 160 kilometres each day for ten days. That’s the equivalent of just under four marathons a day.

Nedd’s hoping his world-record breaking attempt will inspire others to join his Uncomfortable Challenge. He is inviting people to ‘get uncomfortable’ and find their own challenge to raise funds for We are Mobilise.

In a recent interview, Nedd explained, “It doesn’t have to be running. It can be anything that gets you out of your comfort zone – reading 10 pages of a book every day, cooking a new recipe every night, walking 10,000 steps every day. Whatever it is, I’m here for it.”

Nedd has also found the time to write a bestselling book called Showing Up and has another in the pipeline. In addition to his Choccy Milk line, there’ll soon be a limited edition Nedd Brockmann running shoe he’s working on with Puma and a documentary dropping soon on Foxtel and Kayo.

Nedd is modest about his achievements and encouraging of others who dare to find their uncomfortable. “Anyone willing to put themselves on the line has my total support,” he said.
