Minimise your risk of fraud with AmpolCard security and reporting

When you’re busy looking after your business, sometimes it’s challenging to check the details of every business expense. That’s when the risk of fraud can increase. With AmpolCard, it’s easy to minimise the potential for unauthorised card use and overspending. Through your Card Portal, you can access a range of card management tools, settings, and reports to keep you on top of your on-road costs.

 

Use PIN protection for your AmpolCard users

One of the main opportunities for fraudulent card use is if an AmpolCard is lost or stolen. With mandatory AmpolCard PINs for your card users, it’s much more difficult for anyone to misuse AmpolCard.

 

Update your PIN via your Card Portal

 

To update your PIN:

  • Login to your Card Portal
  • Enter the card number in the quick card search field
  • Click 'Update PIN'
  • Enter a 4-6 digit sequence and click 'Submit'
  • Your AmpolCard is now secured.

 

To keep your account protected, make sure that the PIN is not written on the card, and for added security, consider changing your PIN regularly. If you have multiple cards under your account, you will need to update PIN settings for each AmpolCard holder via your Card Portal.

 

* Please note, if you are requesting a new or replacement AmpolCard, you will be able to set a PIN the next business day.

 

Set individual Daily and Monthly spend limits for your drivers

 

Setting Daily and Monthly spend limits in your Card Portal is one of the quickest and easiest ways to minimise the risk of fraudulent card use.

 

If you haven’t already, set spending limits for your drivers based on their current usage and spend. Limits can be changed at any time through the portal. Ensure your drivers have the convenience of filling up when they need to, and you have peace of mind of spending only within set limits.   

 

Check and update your Daily and Monthly transaction limits today. It’s easy

 

  • Login to your Card Portal
  • Enter card number in the quick card search field
  • Click 'Card Usage Options' on the left
  • Click 'Edit' on the top right
  • You can edit the daily and monthly transaction dollar limits from here.

 

Setting card purchase options can go a long way to prevent overspending and misuse. Through your Card Portal, you can select preferences for non-fuel transactions with AmpolCard.

Set approved purchases for your AmpolCard users

You can also select the type of fuel products eligible to be paid for using each fuel card. You could for example, nominate Petrol or Diesel Fuel only, depending on the vehicle the AmpolCard is linked to. This can help prevent unauthorised use of the AmpolCard for non-work vehicles, while also helping you to forecast and manage fuel spending more efficiently.

Run a range of reports to run your business better

Through the Card Portal you can run a range of AmpolCard reports to take the guesswork out of managing vehicle expenses. These reports can provide essential insights into when and how your team are using their AmpolCard. Simply click on ‘Reports’ in the Fuel Cards menu to explore the options.

At an individual driver level, you can run reports that can help to identify accidental or fraudulent non-work- related AmpolCard use. These are just some of the types of reports you can run:

  • More than 1 fill on the same day

  • Fills greater than vehicle fuel capacity

  • Odometer readings that don’t match fuel usage

  • Transactions outside regular business hours
