Ampol Proud to Raise Funds for Surf Life Saving Australia

Ampol is proud to unveil its November campaign to raise money for Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) across its national retail network.

A commitment to drive positive contributions to Australian communities has driven Ampol's partnership with SLSA since December 2020, with an annual fundraising campaign to raise money to support water safety.

With thanks to our generous supply partners, from 2 November to 6 December 2022, 10 cents from every purchase of an Ice Break (500mL-750mL), Twin Pole (74mL), Life Savers Ice Block (67mL), Life Savers Sugar Bag (180-220g) and M&M Chocolate Bag (130g-180g) at participating Ampol stores will go to Surf Life Saving. $1 from all Aerial sunglasses sold will also be donated to Surf Life Saving. Customers can make a donation of their choice to SLSA at the register or online.

All money raised will go directly to SLSA and ensure continued funding for vital upgrades and replacement of lifesaving equipment, volunteer surf lifesavers training and public water safety education.

Ampol Executive General Manager, Retail Australia, Kate Thomson said Ampol was excited to raise funds for SLSA as part of its broader commitment to organisations and initiatives that promote community safety and wellbeing.

"We are proud to again raise funds for our national community partner, Surf Life Saving Australia to help promote their important work across the country," Thomson said.

"The importance of SLSA in keeping Australians safe on beaches cannot be understated, particularly as we head into the busy summer months.

"Ampol's key values around making a difference and never stop caring speak directly to the efforts our surf lifesavers make every day on Australian beaches and is why we uphold a constant presence at all fundamental SLSA events."

SLSA CEO Adam Weir said the organisation was incredibly grateful to have the support of major national partners like Ampol to sustain the surf lifesaving movement in the community.

"Funds raised by Ampol last year enabled us to purchase much-needed equipment to save lives on Australian beaches and throughout communities. Our rescue gear and equipment are constantly exposed to harsh coastal conditions, so funds raised by Ampol this year will once again help us to maintain this vital equipment," Weir said.

"As we head into summer not only are we conscious of how busy beaches are going to be with both local and international tourism in full swing, we have also seen volunteer surf lifesavers deployed to support flood rescue and relief efforts throughout Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania.

"Volunteer surf lifesavers already stand ready to support the community and other emergency services with the ultimate goal of keeping people safe and saving lives."
