A new way to pay for fuel in the Ampol app

Paying with FuelPay in the Ampol app has changed at Ampol Foodary. Now, before you fill up, you need to first open the app and choose your pump number.

How to use FuelPay

Help your drivers get back on the road faster with AmpolCard. When you link your AmpolCard to the Ampol app, you can make contactless payments at Ampol Foodary. To activate FuelPay on the Ampol app, account holder’s can go to our Cards Portal and tick ‘FuelPay’ for individual AmpolCard’s.

Once FuelPay is activated for your AmpolCard, simply add your AmpolCard in the app and pay for fuel from the comfort of your vehicle.

FuelPay Change - Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, to use FuelPay in the Ampol app at any Ampol Foodary, you need to select your pump number in the app before you fill up. 

No, there will be no pre-authorisation charge when you confirm your payment method in the Ampol app. You will only be charged for the final amount of your fuel transaction after you’ve filled up.

If you visit an Ampol Foodary site and forget to open your app before you fill, you may need to pay for your fuel in-store. 

After you select your pump number and fill up, your payment will automatically be processed when you return the pump nozzle to the holder.  

AmpolCard payments will be processed as usual if you select your pump in the app before you fill up. However, if you need to head in-store to pay, you will need your physical AmpolCard to finalise the transaction. 

As payment methods advance, we need to change how we do things. We understand change can be disruptive, but this will help us ensure we can continue to evolve our app to ensure your payments can be made even more securely and conveniently.

Ampol App - Frequently Asked Questions

You can download the free Ampol app from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. Once the app has downloaded, it will prompt you to enable location services on your phone to use FuelPay. Location services must be turned on for the app to work so that the app knows which service station you are at and you must have an internet connection to use FuelPay. Some stores may have customer Wi-Fi which you can connect to use FuelPay. 

Introducing the faster way to pay for fuel. FuelPay is a feature available on the Ampol App that lets you pay for fuel via phone without the need to queue in store.

The next time you visit an Ampol Foodary, open the Ampol app, select your pump number and follow the prompts. The app will pre-check your payment method and let you know when you are ready to start filling.  

Check back in the app when you return to your vehicle to make sure payment has been successful. You’re then good to go! 

If you experience any issues, you can move your vehicle and retry payment. 

You will save 6c per litre on your first 3 fills when you use FuelPay in the Ampol app. You will be entitled to a one-off 6c per litre discount each time you refer a friend once they complete their first fill. You can also link your Everyday Rewards Card to use your 4c per litre Woolworths fuel vouchers. Discounts cannot be stacked and your best offer available will be automatically applied. Please note, AmpolCard customers are not eligible for additional discounts. 

To redeem an app exclusive shop offer, go to the Rewards tab and select the offer you would like to use. You then select ‘Scan QR code’ and a QR code will appear. The team member at the checkout will then scan your item and the QR code and the discount will be applied. Please note, you can only use your QR code in the app once every 24 hours to redeem an offer. 

  1. Open the Profile tab in the Ampol app. 
  2. Once here, tap Everyday Rewards and select the ‘Link Everyday Rewards’. 
  3. You will then be taken to the Everyday Rewards sign in page to link your profile. Once linked, you can start collecting points every time you fill up using FuelPay on the Ampol app. 

Unfortunately, AmpCharge public EV charging isn't eligible for Everyday Rewards.
