We put Ampol's Amplify Diesel HD Injector Cleaner to the test under real-life conditions for a remote Western Australia freight provider, proving its value in reducing fuel consumption by increasing performance.
The Mission
LR Logistics is based in Wangara, Western Australia and provides a 24/7 'Hotshot' emergency freight service to the Pilbara and northern WA. Each Ampol formulation is made to meet the harshest Australian conditions, so the wild north provided the perfect setting to trial Amplify Diesel HD Injector Cleaner in an Isuzu fleet.

The Vehicles
LR Logistics tested six modern Isuzu trucks that:- Were fitted with a high-pressure common rail injection system
- Had an odometer reading over 200,000km
- Were already running on regular (unadditised) diesel, not using any other fuel alternative
- Had not used an injector cleaner
The Trial
We tested these trucks over six weeks on their regular routes from Perth to the Pilbara, with the same six drivers who shared the vehicles.LR Logistics replaced the fuel filters and inspected the tyres before the trial commenced.Each truck’s 200L fuel tank was dosed with Amplify Diesel HD Injector Cleaner. The trucks continued to use regular (unadditised) Diesel throughout the trial. No oil changes happened during the trial (see Appendix 1).We gathered baseline data on fuel consumption plus fuel injection compensation. As the trial progressed, we regularly monitored the ongoing fuel consumption and efficiency data. We took
readings once the Amplify Diesel HD Injector Cleaner was used and for around 20,000km after.
The Result
After using Amplify Diesel Injector Cleaner, the clean injectors showed an improvement of up to 12% fuel efficiency with an average gain of 8% across the fleet (see Appendix 2).
