AdBlue
What is AdBlue?
AdBlue® is a solution of urea and distilled water that is designed to meet the strict exhaust emissions guidelines that have been implemented in recent years.
AdBlue® is injected into the exhaust stream prior to passing through a catalyst. As it is heated in the exhaust, the AdBlue® changes into ammonia and carbon dioxide. When the nitrogen oxide (NOx) gases from the exhaust react with the ammonia and the catalyst, they are converted into harmless nitrogen and water vapour and released to the atmosphere as steam. So, it’s not only better for your fleet, it’s also better for the environment.
Guaranteed protectionUnlike non-approved diesel exhaust fluids, Ampol sourced AdBlue® is VDA-certified, and guaranteed not to contaminate the sensitive Selective Catalytic Reduction components found in modern diesel vehicles.
Guaranteed quality
Being fully VDA-approved and certified means the manufacturing processes have passed rigorous inspections to ensure consistent product quality that complies with strict ISO standards.
How to buy AdBlue
Ampol has several options to buy AdBlue in response to growing demand from businesses and Australian Motorist.
- 10L top up packs available at over 330 locations Australia wide.
- At the pump at over 150 truck access sites nationally
- We can deliver AdBlue in 210L drums, 1000L IBCs and in bulk quantities Australia wide to our business customers to keep them moving, no matter where they are.
Adblue FAQs
Because Ampol AdBlue® is a fully VDA approved and certified product, it means our manufacturing processes have passed rigorous inspections and ongoing audits to ensure consistent product quality that complies with strict ISO standards. Only certified VDA AdBlue® suppliers are licensed to sell branded AdBlue®.
Non VDA approved urea solutions do not offer the same guarantee of performance, product quality, and consistency. Inconsistency of product due to inferior ingredients, contaminants and unsuitable manufacturing processes can lead to:
Blocked sites within the SCR catalyst leading to downtime and costly repairs.
Reduced conversion of NOx causing increased frequency of system warning alerts.
